H. B. Plant High School Class of 1954

 

Dorothy Virginia Dixon, age 83, died on April 3, 2019 in Bandera, Texas. Virginia was born Jan. 16, 1936 in Tampa, Florida to Chancy E. and Dorothy V. Walker.

She graduated from Plant High School and attended the University of Tampa.
She married Dock F. Dixon, Jr. in 1955 at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
She worked for the Department of Agriculture before becoming a mother and fulltime homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Dock F. Dixon, Jr., her children, Patricia Ann Allen and her husband Marc Allen, Jeffrey Walker Dixon and Val Tiemann and Merry Lynn Dixon, and her brother, David Walker. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jason Reed Brown, Matthew James Brown, Jeffrey Richard Brown, Olivia Dixon Sanson, Lindsay Allyn Hendricks, Sydney Erin Hendricks, Cameron David Reyes and Camille Frances Reyes, and great-granddaughter, Kimber Micah Brown, and Kitty Mama.

Virginia will be remembered as an avid gardener, expert seamstress and consummate cat lover. She is a past president of the Social Order of the Beauceant, Chapter 159, in San Antonio.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera, with burial to follow at the Bandera Cemetery.
